Q: Ziplines – What are they?
A: Zipline/Canopy tours started about 20 years ago. Originating in Costa Rica, it introduced tourists to a unique way of communing with nature by traveling through the forest canopy on cables strung from anchor to anchor. Combining the excitement of the ride high in the trees with education regarding habitat, wildlife and history of the area, Canopy Tours became an instant success. Out of this forest adventure, in the past two years has sprung a new hybrid of this concept called Ziplining.
Basically, it has been adapted for the world market to allow the thrilling experience of flying through the trees, over streams and valleys with higher speeds and greater elevation changes.

A: Yes, Sky Safari operates year around and in all weather conditions except thunder storms. No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided.
Q: Is it safe?
A: The Skyline zipline system used is fully engineered and certified. Sky Safari is the safest cable ride system in the world because it utilizes a permanent rock anchor system rather than anchoring cables into trees. The cables used are also 3 times the thickness of conventional zip line systems.

A: Please dress weather appropriate. We recommend you use insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat and a camera. You must wear closed toe shoes.

Q: How do you stop?
A: Sky Safari uses a leading edge brake system. Using a spring break system that allows you to come to a stop automatically. The Spring-bank braking system is a series of springs with differing compressions held together with ‘Spacer’ blocks and headed with a ‘Catch’ Block which allows for the flyers impact speed to be absorbed and intimately slowed smoothly to a stop.
Q: What type of harness do you wear?
A: Our harness used at our St Kitts location provides a 3-point connection. Two connections to our trolley used to fly our main cable and one conection is attached to our saftey cable that follows each main cable. The harness system being used for Skyline systems was specially designed for Skyline. The design is based off of traditional paragliding harnesses, which are made to be sat in comfortably for hours at a time. The stark contrast between our Skyline Harnesses and the climbing harnesses used in other Zipline systems is highlighted by the comfortable leg and back supports as well as a chest strap to ensure rider security. This new system allows guests to stay in a comfortable seated position throughout their flight.
